Abstract

Foreman, Dave, et al., eds., Earth First! 4, no. 6 (20 June 1984). Republished by the Environment & Society Portal, Multimedia Library. http://www.environmentandsociety.org/node/6853.

In this issue of Earth First! Mike Roselle tells the story of 15 protesters who were arrested for taking action against logging in the Middle Santiam, Oregon; Agnes Mansfield sheds light on the struggle for the protection of the Sinkyone Wilderness; George Sessions and Arne Naess describe the basic principles of deep ecology; and Reed Noss discusses the “Murder on Key Largo.”

"With all these endangered species and other natural values, one would think that preservation of North Key Largo would have strong public support. It does. But public support is not enough to stop rich and powerful developers from excercising their murderous greed."

— Reed Noss
